MISS TERESA MCMILLAN

AISTD, CCA, CSC, AAB, Honours B.A., B.Ed

Director Performance Dance Academy

Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Children's Programs

Miss Teresa is the “PDA Proud” director of Performance Dance Academy.

Many exciting opportunities await our dancers again this year:  performances with Ballet Jorgen, Royal City Musical Productions, Benefit Shows, Conventions, Competitions, Shows at the River Run and performances throughout Guelph and much more.

Miss Teresa cannot remember a time in her life when she didn’t want to dance and almost as soon as she had her first ballet lesson she had her friends lined up ready to take lessons from her and shortly after that she had them performing shows on their front porches for the entire neighbourhood.  Her passion is teaching; she enjoys the adorable tots spinning on their tippy-toes; the advanced students who amaze an audience with their athleticism, confidence and grace; her adult dancers who are there for the fun, laughter and exercise.  Travelling has brought many opportunities to study with the best and Miss Teresa loves to share the latest styles and trends in the dance world with her students.

Self-discipline, excellent manners, and respect for fellow dancers are just as important as technical excellence and performance quality in her classes.  Students who achieve a balance of all these qualities may be chosen for ballet, tap and jazz scholarships awarded in memory of her father.  PDA also offers partial scholarship awards for Future Stars and Mature Student Awards for adult dancers.

Miss Teresa credits the success of PDA to her amazing mother, Irene McMillan who has been behind the scenes doing everything and has never missed a show – even those on the front porch- and to her wonderful husband Michael who does everything from making props to designing and painting the backdrop.

Our highly successful and fun-loving dance team is a collaboration of parents, dancers and our Team Directors, Miss Kim Horseman and Mrs. Kim Cox, who work year round to ensure that dancers really understand teamwork.  At PDA we welcome you with a smile – that’s because we are happy to be there, happy to teach your children and oh so happy that we are following our passion!
