Combining the skills of a dancer and gymnast. Increases strength and flexibility – great for all dancers and highly recommended for competitive dancers!

ACRO 1 Saturday PREREQUISITE
 

9:45-10:30AM

 

 

Tuesday 

4:15-5PM

 

 

The following skills with minimal assistance:
front, back somersaults, handstands, headstands, bridge, back bend recover, cartwheels, one handed cartwheels, partner skills, variations of above, flexibility, strength, conditioning.  

ACRO 1 dancers with no previous skills will receive complete instruction and receive spotting assistance for these skills as long as necessary.

10:45-11:30am

PREREQUISITES

 

Can perform the following skills
unassisted with proper technique:

 

  • front roll/straddle/back roll
  • handstand
  • back bend from standing
  • bridge to the floor
  • headstand
  • cartwheel both sides
  • basic partner lifts

Can perform the following with a spot:

 

  • handstand front roll
  • front over
  • bridge recover
  • one hand cartwheel
  • bridge kickover
  • circle bridge

ACRO 3

 

Monday

4:15-5:00pm

 

Sunday

10:45-11:30am

PREREQUISITES:

  • All ACRO 2 skills unassisted with proper technique.

Can perform the following with a spot:

  • back and front walkovers
  • elbow stands
  • chest stands
  • both side cartwheels
  • both side one hand cartwheels with both hands
  • round-offs both sides

 ACRO 4

Tuesday

7:15-8:15pm

PREREQUISITES

 

All ACRO 2 & 3 skills unassisted with proper technique.  

 

Can perform the following with a spot:

  • back limber
  • back walkover variations
  • Valdez
  • straddle press to handstand
  • shoulder stands
  • front handsprings
  • round off with connections

ACRO 6

 

Tuesday

8:15-9:15pm

PREREQUISITES

  

All previously skills unassisted

 

Can perform the following
with a spot: 

  • Stands with leg variations
  • front walkover variations
  • aerial cartwheel
  • back hand spring
  • back tuck
  • Arabian and piked Arabian
  • toe bridges
  • rolling bridges
  • advanced partner work

ACRO DANCEWEAR

Acro dancers wear bodysuits or 2 piece athletic wear closely fitted to the body for safety.

 

HAIR

Hair must be tied back away from the face and eyes. A low ponytail or low bun is recommended.

 

BARE FEET

 Acro dancers take class in bare feet. Foot undies and gym slippers are not allowed.
